Rustic Cross - Silver Dust with Ruby

The stone in this cross is a pretty 4 mm faceted Ruby.  This hand-cut cross is made of .999 Fine silver set on top of a .999 ring of silver.  I include a ring of some type on each cross I make to symbolize unending love and light.  The texturing on this cross is done with a fusing technique - I fused silver dust and bits to the cross.  The silver dust, along with the naturally occuring patina gives texture and depth to the piece as a whole.  It hangs from a Sterling silver chain.
 
Properties of the stone:  The birth stone of those born in July.  Rubies are often associated with wealth and prosperity. Many ancient crowns were decorated with rubies, because they represented good fortune and courage. The ruby's deep red color also has ties to love, passion, and raw emotion.
